Hello, Nekos!
It’s time for another guild goals and accomplishments update! As always, a full read is requested, but for TL;DR, you can skim by reading the red and/or bolded text.
First, some exciting news:
Guild Level Up!
Congratulations, Nekos, we’ve reached guild level 4! Benefits:
- No-break Luna Scales are now in the guild prestige shop — filling the Luna Gem slots in armor and gear
- New guild buff — “Naima’s Engergy” includes the previous bonuses and decreases cooldown for Recall -15%, decreases Recall cast time -7%
Next stop: Guild level 5! At level 5, members will receive 250 honor for each trial, and we’ll have access to even more items in the guild shop. It took us roughly a month to go from level 3 to 4, and the XP needed for level 5 is exponentially more than the previous level. As such, we’ll be calling on everyone in the guild to complete daily guild quests as often as possible. (If you can’t afford the Diamond Shores archeum daily, talk to an officer. Minimum archuem can be provided!)
First Dominion
We were surprised by Mirage Reborn, a red guild, declaring dominion on us. As dominion overrides all safe-zone rules, our opponents searched our AFK members in their homes and normally safe cities in an attempt at an easy victory.
Fortunately for us, Neko MVP Timebombkiller was invited to kill one of their disgruntled members many times over to even the kill count. Meanwhile, we rallied our forces in Mirage Isle and exited in force to cement our victory.
Although we were victorious, our response was woefully disorganized and slow, and nearly countermanded by the number of AFK kills the enemy was able to get. As a result, I’ve instigated a brief list of new dominion protocols, including a plea for everyone to AFK in Mirage Isle only. Please read this short list at your earliest convenience!
It is possible to purchase protection from dominions for 80 prestige, which we will do regularly. However, participating in dominions is actually quite a lot of fun. So long as we follow our new dominion protocols and continue to cultivate good relations with the stronger green guilds, I see no reason not to leave ourselves open to skirmishes now and then. We may even do some declarations of our own when the time is right!
Keeping the Coffers Full
We have begun keeping a guild treasury. The primary intent of these funds is to provide pots for difficult dungeons. Secondary uses include ensuring we have the funds to level up, providing minimal archeum for everyone to complete at least one daily Diamond Shores guild quest, paying for guild land, and purchasing the occasional item for the Guild Headquarters.
These funds are not open for lending to guild members, purchasing gear for members, paying members’ land taxes, or any other usage by individual members outside of group actions.
To keep the treasury full, we will run semi-regular guild trade runs. Members will craft the packs and haul them to the gold trader, where an officer will turn them in. Members will keep the 20% crafters’ fee to cover the material costs, while the guild will retain the 80% profit. Participation is not mandatory, but it is requested.
Leveling Up: Our Most Important Goal
As our guild level increases and our core members grow in strength, we’re in a better position to improve our overall level and, after that, our gear score as well. Doing so will open up more content and options for guild activities. Some of these future possibilities include:
- Consistent Serpentis runs (drops include weapons, armor, gear crafting materials, pet gear, and items needed for late-game content gear quests)
- Library sub-dungeon runs such as Corner Reading Room, Recordkeeper Wynn, etc., which also drop gear crafting materials
- Better results from open-world PvP participation such as Halcyona War (gives honor and Warrior’s Medals) and Grimghast Rift (gives honor and Gilda Stars)
To accomplish this, I am setting the following measurable guild goals:
- Bring all active members in their mid-40’s and above as of Dec. 23, 2015 up to level 55 by the end of January, 2016
To accomplish this, personal goals will need to be set aside in favor of grinding up our guild. I’ll say it again: Personal goals will need to be put on the back burner for this to work. Once we accomplish this goal, you’ll find the guild is more useful and fun for everyone.
Grinding dailies in Golden Ruins and Library is the best way to level post-50, so we should all be spending some time there daily either leveling or helping others to level.
If we all make this our top priority, there’s no reason we can’t have a guild full of fresh-made 55’s to begin the new year!
Following this, we will be able to gear up as a guild by doing consistent Neko runs of the higher-tier dungeons mentioned above, opening up progressively more content.
