Why “Neko Punch”?
“Neko Punch” is the name of a weekly manga publication in Japan. “Neko”, pronounced “neck-oh”, means “cat” in Japanese; the connotation of the name is that you are being overwhelmed by an immense volume of cats. Mostly, it just sounds cool. 😉
What makes Neko Punch worth joining?
Neko Punch has recently moved from being a casual, relaxed guild to one more focused on end-game PvP and content. From a gameplay standpoint, we are committed to continually pushing for ever-higher-end content, as evidenced by our continued growth in strength over time.
However, we also know that top-end content is only as fun as the people you raid with. Because we’ve built ourselves up slowly and with certain unflinching core values, we have a stronger community feel than most other top-tier guilds. Our long-standing principles of helpfulness and respect for all underpin everything we do and make Neko a truly fun place to be.
Are we a fishing/trading/PVP/newbie/etc guild?
Neko Punch is an end-game guild for players of level 50 and above with a minimum of 4.5k gear score. We regularly participate in open-world PvP and contest other top-tier guilds for end-game bosses and content. While we make allowances for the “real lives” of our players, we also view Archeage much as an amateur sports team might; we expect our members to take an active interest in not only their personal development, but also that of the guild by participating in guild activities.
Specifically, our activities include contesting or taking the following: Abyssal Attack, Delphinad Ghost Ships, Anthalon, Meina, Morpheus, Library bosses, Nazar, Kraken, and Red Dragon. Additionally, we run Serpentis regularly. Confirmed members can view our official raid schedule here.
We do not accept members who are unable or unwilling to participate regularly in these kinds of guild activities.
Do we have guild rules?
Yes, all members are required to comply with a basic code of conduct and live up to certain in-game requirements. See our Guild Rules for details.
What’s Our Primary Time Zone?
We have a diverse player base covering multiple time zones and in-game interests, however, our most active time is between 9pm-2am UTC/GMT. On our days off we play at all hours, especially on weekends, and we have active members from various time zones, including the U.S., Asia Pacific region, and Europe.
What Languages Are Welcome?
Speakers of all languages are welcome, but English is our common language. Members are expected to keep an eye on guild chat for group activities, and to understand and follow basic instructions in dungeons and PvP actions.
Do I have to be a hard core player to join?
We consider ourselves “friendly but focused”. Our goals include achieving success regularly during PvP actions, and successfully taking on strong world-bosses and top-tier dungeons. This requires us to fill our ranks with people who play often and are consistently reliable to be present at guild raids.
That said, our concern is more with the attitude of our members than their specific game-play style or level. We look for people who are active, friendly, helpful, and able to follow orders in a raid. These qualities are ultimately more important to us than gear scores or equipment.
Do I need to be a patron to join?
No. Free-to-play players are welcome.
Do we have a VOIP server (TS3, Skype, etc)?
Neko Punch uses TeamSpeak 3 for voice over IP. Constant use of VOIP is encouraged but not required, but listening through VOIP is required for certain raids. Please see our Guild Window (shift-t) after admission for TS3 login details.
Do we have any guild Land?
Yes. We have an aqua farm in Austera, various plots in Auroria for planting Regrade Braziers and Archeum Trees, and a guild mansion as our headquarters in Silent Forest. Additionally, many of our members have voluntarily made their land available for guild use. Please see this post on our forums for the most up-to-date and detailed information, and check our land use guidelines before utilizing guild land.
Is Neko Allied or at War With Anyone?
Neko Punch actively works to maintain friendly relations with other guilds. However, if harassed repeatedly, we will respond accordingly. Please see our guild relations page for our current diplomatic status; members may view this forum post for further details.
Is Archeage a Faction Game?
Because we are strictly against same-faction fighting, we generally follow the rule of “red = dead”. That said, we are not opposed to occasionally and temporarily working with the other factions to further the long-term PvP potential of the server.
How do I advance within the guild?
All members are invited at the lowest tier, which acts as our probationary rank. Be active and helpful during guild raids to be automatically promoted to the second tier. Prove yourself exceptional by your attitude and initiative to advance to an officer position.
How do I join?
The in-game application process is woefully inadequate, so please apply using our shiny Guild Application Form. Please read our Guild Rules before applying.
I can’t reach anyone in your guild!
We recommend using mail for important communication to avoid missed private messages. Please direct your mail to the guild leader, Azelle, or any Neko Punch officer.
